This week’s teaser is for the dogs:
The Hound of the Baskervilles was on the screen. I’d seen it more times than I could count–which was two in my case: me and Bernie, for example–but the way that hound’s howl kept scaring the pants off all those people never got old. If only I could howl like that… Hey! maybe I could.
“Chet. Please. You do that every time at the exact same scene.”

Chet, you see, is a dog, and he’s private investigator Bernie’s sidekick in Dog On It (2009) by Spencer Quinn. I’m planning to review it, but little scenes like this crack me up so much I couldn’t wait to share. If you’re a dog lover, you must read this book!
